Sally Albrecht, M.A., Owner of A.I.D. Training., Activities and Interventions for People with Dementia and Developmental Disabilities
Sally
Albrecht, M.A.,
owner of A.I.D. Training has been working with individuals with cognitive
impairments since 1984. She has a Masters Degree in Cognitive Psychology,
with a specialty in Applied Cognitive Aging, Ohio Department of developmental
disabilities Certification, and a Graduate Certificate in Gerontology. Sally
is the past President and Secretary of the Gerontology Association at The
University of Akron, and she currently serves on the Editorial Board for the
American Journal of Alzheimers Disease and Related Dementias. She is
the Ohio Director of the Tuberous Sclerosis Alliance, and on the Board of
Directors for the Medina Ohio Creative Housing Board, a nonprofit organization
that develops safe and affordable housing in the community for people with
developmental disabilities. Sally is a frequent presenter at NADD (National
Association for Dual Diagnosis) Regional Conferences. To view Sallys

Sally is also the mother of a 25 year-old daughter with Tuberous Sclerosis Complex, a genetic disease that is characterized by varying degrees of mental retardation, lesions on the skin and organs, seizures, and behavioral deficits.
She currently teaches psychology classes at Lorain County Community College in Elyria, Ohio, in conjunction with her position as Owner/Director of A.I.D., Activities and Interventions for Dementia and Developmental Disabilities.
